Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Trendspot (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information from users (“you”) of the Trendspot mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account data — email address, username, profile picture, and authentication credentials (managed via Google Firebase).

User content — videos and images you upload to participate in contests, stored on Microsoft Azure Blob Storage.

Usage data — device type, operating system version, IP address, crash logs, and in-app interactions.

Notifications — push notification tokens if you opt in to receive notifications.

Communications — messages you send to our support team.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To operate contests and determine winners
• To display your content to other users within the Service
• To send push notifications (with your consent)
• To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms
• To improve app performance and fix bugs
• To comply with applicable legal obligations

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following cases:

• Service providers — Google Firebase (authentication), Microsoft Azure (storage), Microsoft Application Insights (analytics). Each processes data under their own privacy policy.
• Legal requirements — When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users.
• Business transfers — In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred as a business asset. You will be notified in advance.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correction — Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion — Request deletion of your account and personal data.
• Portability — Request a portable copy of your data.
• Objection — Object to certain types of processing.
• Opt out of notifications — Disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.

6. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing loucas.pignataro@trendspot.com with the subject line “Delete My Account”. Deletions are processed within 30 days.

7. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at loucas.pignataro@trendspot.com.

8. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To submit a request, contact us at the email below.

9. International Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers. We apply appropriate safeguards (including contractual protections) when transferring data internationally.

10. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption, Firebase token-based authentication, and access controls on our storage infrastructure. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
